That was the motto for the Ben Franklin Fish, the kids' summer swim team. It was our first attempt at swim team, in hopes of improving the kids' swimming skills, mostly Jack's. I thought gymnastics meets were tough, well swim meets are way worse and the parents are just as crazy!!! I told the kids - you do not have to do all the meets, but you do have to go to practice. Turns out, Jack, who cried at almost every single practice, was the one who liked the competition the most, and ended up making it to the finals on the freestyle relay team. Liv, although she seemed to enjoy it, ended up doing well in her meets, but chose not to do the preliminaries/finals in favor of track and gymnastics camp. Bottom line - both kids were excellent swimmers by mid-summer and had fun!!!
